We met Steve and Holly for bagels and coffee
in the morning before driving into downtown Vancouver.
We drove through Chinatown, stopping to view the Sam
Kee Building, the
world's narrowest office building according to the Guinness
Book of World Records. On the same corner of Pender and Carrall
Steets is the Chinese
Times Building and the Chinese
Cultural Centre. After Chinatown, we drove through downtown Vancouver
and Stanley Park before hitting the road again. We were officially
on our way home, and anxious to start the journey.
We had a few things still planned though. We stopped off in Lynnwood
to see Greg one last time and had a cup of coffee at a local cafe. Then
into Seattle and a stop at the Pike
Place Market to see what all the
fuss was about. Since it was mostly closed up for the day, we didn't
get to experience much. After the market, we headed south to Federal
Way, WA and the Saltwater
State Park. The park, unfortunately, is in
the flight path for the Seattle/Tacoma
International Airport. We fell asleep to the occasional jet flying
overhead.
