A full day to relax, talk, and enjoy the view of the sea, the sand,
and the sun.
We played games on and off throughout the day: Chickenfoot
Dominoes, to which our friends Betsy and Kumar had introduced
us, and Chez
Geek, a card game that
Mike had bought at Pike Place Market in Seattle. He had played before
and had rather a difficult time explaining the rules to the lot of
us, but
the game turned out to be quite fun (although some people
were vicious cut-throats).
We also wrote a story, one line at a time by
each
person. The tricky part was that you could only see the previous
line, but no other lines that came before. The resulting story had an
excellent
plot and intriguing characters.
Er, actually, no, it didn't, but it was
still
fun to
read.
Some of the group drove into town to play tourists
at the shops on the docks. They picked up some fresh fish and smoked
salmon
for dinner.
Yum!
Jenn worked on the aghan she was making for Holly, Steve and Lisa's
daughter, in Vancouver, BC. Several folks wrote postcards. Or read.
Or slept. The beauty of vacations.
Another night watching the sunset, this time drinking Rob's margaritas.
We didn't have a camera for once, though. It would have been fun to
capture Jenn's magnificent leap into the Pacific after running --
and then her quick retreat as she realized how damn cold it really
was.
