Log:

We got up fairly early on Friday morning and loaded up the car. We were heading for Pennsylvania for Jenn's family reunion, but our first stop was to be Madison, Wisconsin to visit our friends Colleen and Kevin. As an added bonus, our friend Mike was going to be in town and staying at C&K's house. But, before we could hit the road for real, we had to hop over to Kingwood where Rob's family had agreed to look after Juni during our trip. We got there around lunch time, then quickly hit the road again. We drove through East Texas, and across Arkansas. We finally hit West Memphis, AR around 10 o'clock that night, and stayed at a Best Western there.

The next morning, we got up bright and early and hit the road. We cruised through rolling farmland in Missouri up to St. Louis on our way to Madison. We got there around dinner time, just in time to chow down on Mike's super-secret family recipe Italian supper. Mike had come to Madison earlier for Colleen's "Retirement" party, and stuck around a couple days extra so he could see us. We were glad he did!

The next morning, we went out to breakfast with Colleen, Kevin, Mike, and Colleen's sister, Jeannine and her boyfriend, Chris. Jeannine lived in Ann Arbor when Rob lived in Kalamazoo, so she came to visit Colleen fairly often. It was good to see her again, and met her boyfriend.

After breakfast, we went to a community festival in honor of the explorer, Marquete. It was hotter than galvanized sin outside, but we still had fun.

The next morning, we said our good-byes, and made our way up to Northern Michigan for some camping.
