Alta Lake. This is a National Forest campground, and we could have camped here for free if we hadn't already set up camp at Matterhorn.

The Lizard Head Wilderness takes its name from the peak, seen in the distance. Dogs are allowed off-leash in the National Forests and Wilderness Areas, as long as they are under control at all times.
This meadow was filled with the sound of thousands of bees swarming the wildflowers.
